September 15, 2013

We kicked off our school year with a visit from alum Pete Browngardt, creator of the show Uncle Grandpa on Cartoon Network, which premiered Monday September 2nd at 8pm. Pete’s credits include Futurama, Adventure Time, Chowder, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome and of course, his new show, Uncle Grandpa

Pete spoke about his time at CalArts, showed inspiring clips from films, and talked about his approach to making creative work and animation. He emphasized to our students how important it is to make their own individual film each year, and how filmmaking is the ultimate learning process.

Many thanks to Phil Rynda and Brooke Keesling for their help organizing the talk!
